This is for my student. I promised her I'd draw/paint her something if she passed her tests with at least 80% or higher. She passed with flying colors ^^ and requested a school boy so, here it is.
I originally wanted the character at a school but after some thought and playing around, I figured the idea and theme of freedom would make a more interesting composition. I figured this best expressed it. This, in part, is inspired by Shel-yang's

amazing art. Especially her Children in Paradise series. I can't beat her, but I think this piece says it own thing.
All done in watercolor with white gouache, white gel ink, and sepia copic pen. The original isn't as saturated, and I still didn't quite achieve what I wanted, but it's a good start. It's been a while since I last did watercolor. It was fun.

I might do a CG version of this as I originally did the line work on PS then transferred it over to paper. Besides, this belongs to my student so if I were to ever print the series, I want her to have the original. ^^
